As we are approaching the last few weeks of summer, I hope you all have had a chance to recharge over the last 8 weeks. Summer goes way too fast, but with the beginning of school approaching, it is a great time to start thinking about what you need to do to get back into the swing of your healthy routine. I know my body is ready even if I would like summer to drag on for at least another month!

Here are a few healthy habits to think about making part of your own routine:

  1. Drink a glass of warm (not hot) lemon water first thing in the morning.
  2. Meditate for at least a few minutes every day. This can be done in your car, while you are running, or in a quiet place in your home.
  3. Do some active stretching daily. Once again, this can be done most anywhere – in the airport, at your computer, in line at the grocery store – you will just need to leave your self-consciousness at home.
  4. Try to incorporate 2-3 days of cardio and 2-3 days of strength training into your weekly exercise program.
  5. In the words of Michael Pollan, “Eat real food, mostly plants, and not too much.”

I will be holding classes this Thursday at 6am and Friday at 9am if any of you are in town and want to workout. Please let me know!!

Cheers!
