Feel better = Look better = Feel better = Look better

You know the old saying, which comes first the chicken or the egg??  I am always applying that question to health and exercise (as you know from my previous posts).  Which comes first, if you look better you will feel better, or if you feel better you will look better?  LOOK BETTER = FEEL BETTER = LOOK BETTER = FEEL BETTER and the wheel just keeps on turning!  Interestingly enough, I wrote my masters’ thesis on this same topic in a more complex format.  Even though I was applying the concept to mental health, I understood how important the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, etc. pieces of our health were to our overall mental health.  We have to understand our complex range of needs and “feed” them to be whole.  Taking care of our bodies through a healthy lifestyle of eating well and exercising is one of the many ways to feed our souls, but I believe it is the gateway to feeling better and looking better and nurturing ourselves from the inside out.
Yes, I hear the excuses all the time and I really do not need to list them all here, but if you have 4 blocks of 5 minutes in your day, you can give your upper body, core, legs, and heart a good 5 minutes each and gain the same benefits as working out for 20 minutes nonstop.  If you need ideas on how to get in a little exercise at least 5 days a week, let me know, I am happy to give you ideas!  Make yourself a priority and try to give your body the movement it craves and  a little challenge as well.  Set one healthy eating goal each week and just take it one day at a time.  Even if that goal is to increase the amount of water you drink by one glass a day, you are giving your body a gift!  Your body is the only one you get, so treat it well!!!
We have the March Madness challenge starting last Friday.  The person who attends the most Perfectly Fit group classes this month will get a one-on-one personal training session or you can convert the value to group classes ($120).
