FALL RUNNING AT HILLVIEW MIDDLE SCHOOL
StellaFit is offering a Fall Running Pod at Hillview Middle School for up to 20 kids who would like to improve overall health and fitness this fall. This is a safe place for the kids to come together, run, work on their conditioning, support their mental health, learn some training strategies, and have some fun. This will be a progressive running and conditioning program done in a safe and supportive atmosphere. We are hoping to participate in at least one x-country event and one 5k this Fall.
The following guidelines will be put in place to make sure this is a safe and healthy environment for all:
1. All kids must agree to follow current Covid protocol set forth by San Mateo County Public Health.
2. All kids must agree to stay home and let Stella know if not feeling well or experiencing signs of illness.
3. All kids must agree to taking a Covid test if exposed to the virus (even if vaccinated) and testing negative before returning to the running program.
This group will run for two sessions of 6 weeks each, with one week off in between. When you sign up, you are committing for the full 12 weeks but I will not bill you for the second session until the last week of the 1st session. Each 6-week session will be $360

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 – 4:30 pm
Session 1 – August 24th – September 30th.
Session 2 – October 12th – November 18th.
StellaFit’s SUMMER Teen Tabata Workout
StellaFit’s Teen Tabata Workout is Online with Zoom and open to all incoming 6th – 9th graders! This class is designed to help teens improve tissue health, gain better movement patterns, and improve overall fitness (cardiovascular + core strength).
The class is broken up into 3 sections which include 5-6 minutes of tissue prep, 10 minutes of mobility warmup, 10 minutes of foundational strength, 30 minutes of tabata (cardio + core intervals), plus 5 minutes of stretching.
Tabata is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session that is broken down into (6) 4 minute sessions, each with 8 segments of 20 seconds work, followed by 10 seconds of rest. I have found that this workout works great for teens because they can work really hard for the 20 second intervals, it is super fast paced, and they do not get bored.
Days/times: Monday and Wednesday 4-5 pm.
Dates: TBD (5 weeks).
Cost: $TBD (Only one signup per family needed if more than one child would like to join).
Equipment needed: Would be great to have a therapy ball (lacrosse or tennis ball will work) and a mat (could also just use a towel).
SPRING CONDITIONING WITH COACH STELLA
**PLEASE NOTE: THIS CLASS IS OPEN TO KIDS FROM ALL SCHOOLS
Spring Conditioning is BACK! This is a private class limited to approximately 15 kids (6th-8th grade) who would like to become better runners and overall athletes! This class will focus on improving running endurance, fundamental movement patterns, balance, stability, and strength. We will also cover nutrition, sleep, recovery, and breathing strategies for optimal performance and health. This class is intended for kids who really enjoy running as we will increase our mileage each week with the last week running at least 4 miles.
Days/times: Mondays and Wednesdays: from 3:30 pm – 4:40 pm both days. We will meet at Hillview School by the track. Mondays will include intervals on the track, Wednesdays will include a longer run through the neighborhood.
Cost is $TBD (Please note, a full refund minus $100 will be issued if a participant needs to drop out in the first week only.)
Summer X Country Training

Program: This program is designed to get kids ready for Fall X-country or for kids who just want to improve their running strength and endurance for their fall sports. We will focus on doing the runs which are more fun to do in a group – one interval day on the track, one hill day at Valparaiso, and one
Includes: All kids will receive a summer training schedule with runs to do on off days as well as on the off weeks.

Fall Cross Country is back at Hillview for its 5th year! I am super excited to be back this fall and helping another group of kids improve their running endurance, speed, strength, and overall conditioning. I will also share nutrition and mental strategies that will help them with running as well as other sports and life in general. No previous running experience needed, just a good attitude and a willingness to run.If this sounds like something your child might be interested in, then Stella Fit’s Cross Country Program is for you!
Improving running strength and endurance can help your child excel in other sports, whether it is football, soccer, basketball, tennis, or lacrosse. A solid foundation of stability, strength, and endurance is essential for athletes to compete at their best. Stella Fit’s Cross Country Program will teach your child the fundamentals of long distance running in a fun and safe environment. We will also weave in talks on nutritional support, mental strategies, and sleep for optimal health and performance. Our goal will be to compete in one cross country meet and run a 5K at Stanford at the end of the 8 week program. The program will be led by Stella Bergan, MEd, NASM CPT and assisted by Chelsea Fleher who is also a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist.
Day/Time: Mondays 3:15 – 4:30pm and Wednesdays 2:40 – 3:55 pm

FUN FRIDAY YOUTH RUNNING PROGRAM WITH COACH STELLA

Is your child looking to improve their running conditioning, fundamental movement patterns, balance, stability, and strength? Would your child like to learn nutrition, sleep, recovery, and breathing strategies for optimal performance and health? This class is open to 10 kids who are ready to take their training to the next level! We run two weeks of trail runs followed by intervals on the Priory Track the third week (trails, trails, track, trails, trails track, etc.). Please NOTE – if the Priory Track is unavailable, we may use Hillview as our alternate location. This is a great way to shake off the stress of the week on Friday afternoons!
Winter Conditioning Program, offered by Stella Bergan, MEd, NASM CPT

The Stella Fit Winter Running Conditioning and Foundational Skills Training Program is for kids who would like to keep up their conditioning or improve their conditioning over the winter months. This program will help improve running endurance, speed, quickness, strength, and balance. We will be doing running drills on the track, along with foundational mobility, strength, and balance sets. We will meet rain or shine.
