Happy Father’s Day to all the Perfectly Fit dads!

I hope you are able to get out and enjoy this beautiful day with your Family or maybe take a day to recharge by yourself. Whatever you do, I hope it lifts you up and fills your soul!

Here are my top 3 tips for keeping yourself healthy over the summer without sacrificing good food and lots of fun!

1. Be mindful of how much, why, and what you are eating. Before you decide what you will eat, take three deep balloon breaths that expand your belly below your diaphragm and exhale as much air as you possibly can. Ask yourself what do you need to eat to nourish your body right now. Make sure you understand why you are eating – hungry, bored, sad, etc. Visualize how much you need to satisfy your hunger without eating too much.

2. Move your body as much as you can throughout the day! An active lifestyle is far more effective at keeping you healthy than a 1 hour workout combined with 12 hours of sitting/not moving. Figure out how to make your life as active as possible.

3. Try to make every meal and snack a combination of healthy protein, fat, and fiber. Think poached egg on half of an Ezekiel english muffin with sautéed spinach and avocado, apples with peanut or almond butter, organic plain yogurt with chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup of berries – you get the idea!

If you have not signed your teens up for week 2 of my Summer Skills and Conditioning Camps, please do so ASAP. The sign ups for week 2 (June 29-July2) will close this Wednesday, June 24th, so sign up FAST! The camps are going to be fun, challenging, and incredibly informative. You can find more information on my website at www.stellafit.com.

We have some changes to the schedule this week. Monday’s class at Stanford Hills has been changed to 7:15 am tomorrow!! Also, there will be no class this Friday as I will be attending a 3 day certification course for Project Resistance. The Tuesday/Thursday 6am class and Wednesday Stanford Hills class are on as scheduled.

If you are in town, I hope to see you tis week!

Cheers!
